The US energy bill signed into law on Wednesday will require lighting to use up to 30% less energy, which will basically kick out the incandescent light bulb. It's because it won't be able to meet the new ecology standards. I can believe but higher requirements under the new law phase out the 100-watt bulb beginning in 2012. The fer the more - the 75-watt bulb a year later and then 40- and 60-watt bulbs will be phased out in 2014.
